Closing out the season on a DePaul win
Tuesday Mar 10, 2015
Tuesday Mar 10, 2015
Marquette got that win they needed to feel less bad about themselves and against DePaul no less, so we talked about the DePaul game. We also spend some time discussing Steve Taylor and whether his last two games are indicative of his senior year or a match-up thing. From there, we move to the up coming conference tournament in NYC and Marquette's chance to win at least one game and what it would take to beat Villanova approximately 6 hours after beating Seton Hall. We close out the podcast with some house cleaning topics: Congratulating Duane Wilson and Matt Carlino on their All Big East awards. Talking about Traci Carter at least partially fill the gap hole at point guard for next years team and whether he will become the newest player to commit to Marquette basketball. Wishing Wesley Matthews a speedy recovery from what was a very unfortunate achilles injury. Regular season has come to a merciful close, but enjoy conference tournament time....we won't see Marquette play again until November.

More of the same from Marquette, but this pod will be mostly new, we think

Ah, another couple of games and another couple of performances that were primarily frustrating but with flashes of potential. We taped this pod immediately following the latest double digit loss, at Providence. We talk about the game and discuss whether all the things that are going on are player, coaching, or bad luck related. We spend time discussing Duane Wilson's performance and why we are looking forward to seeing him play for the next couple of years. We also move from the current year to next year with some of the pieces in place now and pieces that will be in place next season and what that all looks like. We then shift to the more immediate future and discuss the three seniors on this team, Matt Carlino, Derrick Wilson, and Juan Anderson. Spoiler alert, if you like to hate on a couple of the players you won't like this portion of the pod. To finish off the pod, we talk about some recruiting news and where that's going as well as talk next years exception tournament, the Legends Classic. Two weeks to go in the season, you can make, just hang with us a little longer.

A new recruit and a valiant effort on Marquette Day
Tuesday Feb 24, 2015
Tuesday Feb 24, 2015
Within the span of a week Marquette has lost a recruit and gained a recruit. Welcome to Sacar Amin, the newest Warrior in the fold! With Sacar's announcement, we do a quick, uneducated evaluation of his talent based on media reports, short youtube clips and rampant speculation. We also discuss the impact of this announcement on the direction Wojo takes the last 3 scholarships. We then turn to National Marquette Day and the results against Villanova. The game, while a losing effort, was a lot better than we expected and we saw some positive take-ways. We talk about JjJ's transformation from scrapper to legitimate scorer as well as a bold prediction about Duane Wilson at Marquette. We also talk injuries and whether we expect Matt Carlino back at all this season. It's a relatively short pod but we've got a lot packed in there. Enjoy

The podcast suffered a concussion and had to sit out, but we're back now
Wednesday Feb 18, 2015
Wednesday Feb 18, 2015
We haven't podded in a couple of weeks, but we're back to raise your spirits. The team has struggled the last couple of weeks, especially with Matt Carlino out with a concussion, but we have to talk through it. We talk about what's been going wrong and what, if anything, has been going right. We also have a difference of opinion as to what the team should do for the last 5 games of the regular season. As we talk about the rest of the season, we transition to recruiting news. We briefly tap dance around the Nick Noskowiak news before moving on what needs to be done with the 4 scholarships now available to Wojo. Last we talk about National Marquette day and why it's actually a cool day. Enjoy the podcast, hopefully its a positive moment from the season.
*Note, we know one of the mikes has echo, its an environmental issue we'll try to fix.

Another week and another couple of tough, well fought loses. The Georgetown loss was especially tough to take given some pretty questionable calls. We spend time talking about the officiating and the team's performance in the game. We analyze this weeks performance in total and talk about what's good and what's bad. We spend some time talking about JaJaun Johnson and where his game is. We also carry on for a while about Derrick Wilson's best play as a Marquette Warrior....posterizing Paul White. We wrap up the pod talking about the next couple of games and determine if Marquette will actually get over the hump and record a win or two.

A mediocre week and big? changes for the NCAA
Tuesday Jan 20, 2015
Tuesday Jan 20, 2015
Another week and another couple of games with late game fades, one a win another a tough road loss. We discuss the Creighton and Xavier results, what’s the deal with Luke Fischer as well as Matt Carlino – “villain” to hero. We also spend some time talking about JaJuan Johnson’s DNP-CD, impact on the team, and #8strong AKA great marketing/difficult basketball strategy. We then transition to an overview of the upcoming games and what our mediocre opinion of Marquette basketball is. Spoiler alert – wins are going to be tough to come by for the next two weeks. So we don’t fade late in the podcast, we finish by discussing the substantial changes in NCAA policy that were voted on last weekend. We speculate about what the changes mean, how it impacts the Big East and Marquette as well as what the long term consequences might be.

Tough loss and a quiet week
Monday Jan 12, 2015
Monday Jan 12, 2015
It feels like 3 weeks since the Georgetown loss but it was only 6 days. We breakdown the game and what we felt about that game. It turned out to be both better and worse than we anticipated, we're confused too. We also spent time discussing Matt Carlino and what he means to this team, both good and bad. We also talked broadly about the Big East and the next couple of games for MU....spoiler alert, the next 3 are critical. Lastly we talk specifically about the Creighton game and what we're anticipating will happen there. It's a shorter pod, calm before the schedule story so to speak.

Terrible way to end 2014 and a great way to start 2015
Sunday Jan 04, 2015
Sunday Jan 04, 2015
There is no sugar coating it, that was a dumpster fire in Rosemont against DePaul to end 2014. As painful as it is we reviewed the game and try and figure out what went wrong. Then we transition to the more positive result in the Providence win. We talk back court for Marquette and whether Duane Wilson is in a slump or ran into a wall. We then heap some well earned praise on Juan Anderson. Lastly we talk the up coming road game against Georgetown and what it's going to take to win. Enjoy and Happy New Year!

The Big East season is upon us
Tuesday Dec 30, 2014
Tuesday Dec 30, 2014
Most of the holiday feasting is over for you, and it is for Marquette basketball. The heart of the basketball season, conference play, starts up on New Year's Eve. In this Scrambled Eggs episode, we start by looking back at non-conference season and each finding a reason for optimism in the conference season and a reason for concern. We then transition to the conference season and what it looks like. We don't go game by game but we look at some critical match-ups and what a possible record looks like. We also can't help ourselves and have to have a little tournament discussion. Lastly, we give a huge shout out to Jimmy Butler who is absolutely doing work in the NBA. Happy New Year and Happy Conference Season.

Marquette got a shiny, new toy for Christmas...Luke Fischer
Friday Dec 19, 2014
Friday Dec 19, 2014
Well to say the Luke Fischer era at Marquette got off to a fast start would be the least earth shattering news of this week. We jump right into the Luke story line and discuss our first impressions, what we liked, and what this might mean for this Marquette team. Be warned, we are pretty enthusiastic for Luke's future. We talk about the ASU game overall and then transition into a brief conversation on last weeks less than awesome transfer news. With the transfers, that leaves 3 open scholarships. As anonymous internet podcasters, we had to tell Wojo what he should do with those scholarships. Lastly we talk a little bit of future for this team. Unless something catastrophic happens, this will be the last pod until right before BE opening. Merry Christmas to all the Marquette fans and enjoy your presents, especially Luke Fischer.
