If you were looking for positive, I don't think this will be your podcast

Well, it looks like we achieved the most depressing(hopefully) podcast of the season in quick order. Trying to find some positivity, we introduce a new podcast character, but the discussion quickly turns to Marquette basketball. We talk about the season to date but spend a lot of time on the Iowa debacle (not hyperbole). We go through a laundry list of issues that include 3pt shooting, coaching strategy, experience (or lack thereof), post offense, and where we go from here. We also talk about whether any of this reflects on Marquette's future and an excellent column by Paint Touches. Lastly we preview the Legend's Classic in New York and what we expect to see out of this team, with an emphasis on fervent hope that we don't get boat raced by LSU. I'd say enjoy the podcast, but it's not that kind of podcast.

The season has started, but not quite how we hoped.

First podcast of the new regular season, like the game against Belmont has it's high and low points. If you've ever been in a performance review at work, we're going to treat the Belmont game that way....the compliment sandwich. We talk about a few good things, then focus on the bad, and talk about a few more good things. We finish up with a brief discussion of recruiting and how we see the next week of games going. Enjoy.

Pre-Season, Post Madness
Sunday Oct 11, 2015
Sunday Oct 11, 2015
The 2015-2016 Marquette season is nearly upon us. Marquette Madness was October 9th so we'll talk about that(but neither of us attended, shhh, I won't tell if you don't). We break down what Madness is and what if anything we got from reports about the event. The season is 4 weeks away and the full schedule is out, so knowing what we know about the team (not much) and the opponents Marquette will play (even less) we take an pseudo-educated guess at the results. Spoiler alert: one of us is over-optimistic and the other is just crazy. We then talk expectations, what we are excited for, and what our biggest fear is going into this season. The podcast closes out on the fun that was had with the Marquette football sign Joe took to the opening weekend of College Gameday which set twitter/facebook/social media/interstellar communications ablaze for half a minute. Enjoy the run up to the season, Marquette basketball is almost back in our lives!

Italian Jump to Conclusions Mat
Monday Aug 24, 2015
Monday Aug 24, 2015
The summer is drawing to a close so the podcast is emerging from its summer hibernation. We come out of this slumber to discuss the successful Italian tour that the Marquette basketball team just completed. We spend some time discussing our overdrawn conclusions from the games, especially The Engine (Traci Carter). We do spend a moment on the sensitive subject of Nick Noskowiak but quickly return to the Italy trip. We talk about all the things we saw and eventually transition into a discussion of the upcoming non-conference schedule. Yes, it still bugs us but we do feel a little better after having seen the team play actual basketball. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer and this podcast.

Summer Scrambled Questions
Tuesday Jul 07, 2015
Tuesday Jul 07, 2015
Hopefully this podcast finds everyone successfully recovering from their Fourth of July festivities and enjoying a solid off-season. It's been a while since we podded so we went crowd sourcing for your questions that we could spend some time answering. Before we got to the questions though, we had to take care of some Marquette news and notes. First, former Marquette basketball players are getting PAID, maybe even enough to fund a wing of the new arena. Speaking of, we talk a little news on the arena and try to calm everyone's angst over the deal. Then lastly we talked about Sam Hauser committing, which was clearly caused by us podding. So now we get to the Scrambled Questions, of which there were a lot so thanks to the fans. We cover a little bit of everything, line-ups, should we just jump off a bridge now, Henry Ellenson - Savior or mere hero, and what does the strategy look like for both ends of the floor. Enjoy the pod, have a great summer and get ready for the season only ~90 days to the start of the season.

Checking in on the offseason
Sunday May 17, 2015
Sunday May 17, 2015
It's been a while since we podded so we come back to check in on the off season. First we talk about the new commit of 2015 (that we knew of at the time, more on that later), Andrew Rowsey. Next we discuss the status of the Bucks stadium deal, which has a significant impact on Marquette in future seasons. We then transition to some rule discussion, I know, hot stuff. We then talk Marquette and the NBA to close out the pod. I told you the off season.
Editors note: This pod was recorded 2 hours before Sam Hauser committed to Marquette. All jokes and references to Marquette getting a commit within 24 hours of the podcast being posted were recorded prior to his commitment.....just thought you should know what geniuses you are dealing with.

The season has been a grind to say the least, but the first in the Wojo era is now over and we need to talk about. We spend a little time talking about the Big East tournament, but not too much because there wasn't a lot new there. We then talk relatively surprising news, the transfer of Steve Taylor Jr to parts unknown. Since the season is over we have to talk about how this news impacts next year's team and vent a little disappointment. Speaking of disappointment, we talk about the Big East performance in March Madness. We try to put it in perspective for Marquette short and long term and why we should all be Musketeer fans. Lastly, we close out with a few odds and ends like Marquette in Italy this summer. Cleanse yourself of the season and give a listen while we are hopefully celebrating a Badger loss.

Closing out the season on a DePaul win
Tuesday Mar 10, 2015
Tuesday Mar 10, 2015
Marquette got that win they needed to feel less bad about themselves and against DePaul no less, so we talked about the DePaul game. We also spend some time discussing Steve Taylor and whether his last two games are indicative of his senior year or a match-up thing. From there, we move to the up coming conference tournament in NYC and Marquette's chance to win at least one game and what it would take to beat Villanova approximately 6 hours after beating Seton Hall. We close out the podcast with some house cleaning topics: Congratulating Duane Wilson and Matt Carlino on their All Big East awards. Talking about Traci Carter at least partially fill the gap hole at point guard for next years team and whether he will become the newest player to commit to Marquette basketball. Wishing Wesley Matthews a speedy recovery from what was a very unfortunate achilles injury. Regular season has come to a merciful close, but enjoy conference tournament time....we won't see Marquette play again until November.

More of the same from Marquette, but this pod will be mostly new, we think

Ah, another couple of games and another couple of performances that were primarily frustrating but with flashes of potential. We taped this pod immediately following the latest double digit loss, at Providence. We talk about the game and discuss whether all the things that are going on are player, coaching, or bad luck related. We spend time discussing Duane Wilson's performance and why we are looking forward to seeing him play for the next couple of years. We also move from the current year to next year with some of the pieces in place now and pieces that will be in place next season and what that all looks like. We then shift to the more immediate future and discuss the three seniors on this team, Matt Carlino, Derrick Wilson, and Juan Anderson. Spoiler alert, if you like to hate on a couple of the players you won't like this portion of the pod. To finish off the pod, we talk about some recruiting news and where that's going as well as talk next years exception tournament, the Legends Classic. Two weeks to go in the season, you can make, just hang with us a little longer.

A new recruit and a valiant effort on Marquette Day
Tuesday Feb 24, 2015
Tuesday Feb 24, 2015
Within the span of a week Marquette has lost a recruit and gained a recruit. Welcome to Sacar Amin, the newest Warrior in the fold! With Sacar's announcement, we do a quick, uneducated evaluation of his talent based on media reports, short youtube clips and rampant speculation. We also discuss the impact of this announcement on the direction Wojo takes the last 3 scholarships. We then turn to National Marquette Day and the results against Villanova. The game, while a losing effort, was a lot better than we expected and we saw some positive take-ways. We talk about JjJ's transformation from scrapper to legitimate scorer as well as a bold prediction about Duane Wilson at Marquette. We also talk injuries and whether we expect Matt Carlino back at all this season. It's a relatively short pod but we've got a lot packed in there. Enjoy
