A classic mid off-season pod from Scrambled Eggs
Saturday Jun 30, 2018
Saturday Jun 30, 2018
We've been taking time off this summer to do nothing but improve the quality of the podcast.....clearly I'm kidding, we've been doing whatever and got together to talk #mubb during the off season. So we turned to you dear listner fror content and got some excellent questions from the twitter.com. We answer some key questions vexing the fanbase like did the team overschedule and who is going to be the unanticipated breakout player next season. We touch on recruiting a little bit and then wrap up with some hot TBT talk. Have a great Fourth of July and enjoy the TBT!

As off seasons go, we're off to a great start

The masses have spoken (if like a dozen people on twitter can be considered "the masses") you wanted a pod to talk about the off season so far and we're here for it. We spend the beginning of the pod talking about the two recruits that Wojo landed and how they may impact the team as well as projecting forward to next season and 2019. We both love the signings but will it have enough of an impact on the roster to make up for glaring defensive issues. Below are the stats that Joe cited on the pod:
Offense Off eFG% Defense Def eFG%
2015 105.4 (154) 49.8 (130) 98.5 (69) 49.2 (173)
2016 108 (116) 52 (76) 100.1 (88) 48.7 (107)
2017 120.8 (8) 57.4 (4) 104.2 (165) 52.2 (241)
2018 119.4 (12) 56.8 (14) 106 (186) 53.8 (292)
We then turn to long term recruiting news and start talking about 2019/2020 in earnest. Once we get back from our trip into the future, we spend time talking about the non-conference schedule as we know it for 2018 and what the means for the team and their mindset. We close out the pod talking about the possible end of Dwyane Wade's NBA career and how desperately we want him to play one more season as a farewell tour. As always, enjoy!

Summing up the season
Monday Apr 16, 2018
Monday Apr 16, 2018
Well, we took some time off, collected out thoughts, made up some fake awards and came back with a podcast for the season in review. We overview the season in general and spend some time talking about recuiting news that #mubb has been associated with. We also shout out graduating senior and long range bomber, Andrew Rowsey (RIP #TheThing). We then spend time handing out made-up awards for the season including the first annual Phil! PHIL! award. Enjoy!

Buckle up kids, we've got a long Scrambled Eggs pre-season pod for you

Monday Oct 23, 2017
It is still the preseason but the last couple of weeks have been action packed for #mubb so we ended up having a mega-Scrambled Eggs pod. First line of discussion, what we've actually seen from the team thanks to two events: Hurricane Relief fundraiser/exhibition against UW-Milwaukee and an open practice for season ticket holders. We talk about key take-aways from this team so far, are we more or less worried than when we had no observable facts, and who among the new comers will be key to this season. We then transition to early talk of the 2018 season, in the form of an on-campus visit for 2018 PG target Quentin Grimes. We talk about what to expect from the visit and afterwards, what Grimes committment or non-committment means to the team, and how to treat the whole thing with dignity (unlike fans/alumni of a certain university 80 miles west of Marquette). We then turn to the full schedule and do a game by game prediction with light analysis of how we see the season going (spoiler alert, Phil is way too optimistic as always and Joe is probably right). Go for a long run or take a road trip, because there is some material to dig through, but after this podcast you should be ready to go and excited for #mubb to start. Enjoy!

It's fall so we're starting to shake off our summer vacation and more importantly, there is #MUBB news to report and comment on. First we lightly touch on the momentary freakout around Haanif's sling thanks to Instagram. Moving on from that silliness we get to the heart of the podcast, Marquette's newly released schedule. While we don't go game by game we do review the schedule overall and what it might mean for the team this season. We discuss what the non-conference schedule does for a young front court, how we owe apologizes to Mike Broeker after having seen Georgetown's non-con, and what the conference schedule looks like in terms of potential post season. We also send a lot of time talking about the intensifying recruitment of Quentin Grimes by #MUBB, mostly around what his recruitment means for Marquette's roster in 2018, coaching staff as recruiters and level setting expectations for actually landing Mr. Grimes. Enjoy the pod, we're only 4 weeks away from Marquette Madness.

Quick off-season check-in with #mubb
Tuesday May 09, 2017
Tuesday May 09, 2017
It's been a couple of months so we thought it'd be good to pull together a pod to make sure we don't get too rusty. Plus there has been some roster news in the past couple of weeks so we should probably talk about that. We talk about Greg Elliot first and his potential impact on the upcoming season. We then discuss Ed Morrow at length(pardon the pun), what his transfer to MU means for the roster in 2018 anf does that mean good or bad things for the Joey Hauser recruitment. We also talk about the recruits that MU is looking at for 2018 and what THAT means for the roster. We also talk about the concerns about the point guard position in 2018 given the roster make-up. After we get done wildly speculating about a whole bunch of stuff, we then move on to the really fun stuff TBT (The Basketball Tournament). We walk through the roster as we currently understand it and talk about alumni we'd love to see play on the team this summer. We've included a link below for you to get out and vote for MU's alumni team to be able to be in the tournament. As always, enjoy the pod and the off-season

The season is nearly upon us, time to predict it
Sunday Nov 06, 2016
Sunday Nov 06, 2016
Marquette basketball is on the cusp of starting the 2016-17 so we're here to talk about it. First stop is to discuss and overreact to what we saw of the exhibition game against Rockhurst. As we talk about the game we also reference back to the "secret" scrimmage against Dayton from two weeks ago. We then talk about the first real game on the schedule, The Veteran's Classic at the US Naval Academy against Vanderbilt. We talk about what the game will look like and if we think Marquette prevails. With the first game prediction out of the way, we then prognosticate the entire season and compare it to the KenPom projections. While one of us is more optimistic than the other, we are both definitely on the positive side of the ledger for the season over all. To close out the projections and the episode we talk about who we think will be the MVP, Newcomer of the Year, and Breakout players this season. Let's get ready for some real basketball!

Podcast is in off season form
Tuesday May 24, 2016
Tuesday May 24, 2016
Well, it's the off season which means we are more unprepared and disorganized then ever but we have a good amount of topics to cover, so hopefully that makes up for it. We talk about non-basketball related Marquette topics before we remember we are a basketball podcast and then jump into the latest news first. We discuss Khalif Young and LG Gill deciding not to don the blue and gold next season. We debate whether it's a big deal, does it matter, is it a sign of weakness, and why people seem so anxious about some mid-tier recruits. We then talk about everybody's least favorite topic: was Wally cut and why. Basically it boils down to Phil is cold hearted and Joe has some sympathy but basically we should all move on. Since we do have a scholarship open, its worth talking about what the team should do with it. Then we transition to some schedule news that's been coming out in dribs and drabs and what that means for the non-conference season. Lastly we spend time talking about "The Tournament" which is something that Marquette basketball alum led by Dan Fitzgerald are trying to qualify for so they can go win $2 million. The potential team looks pretty good with a lot of fan favorites signed up. Hopefully it'll show up on tv somewhere so we can spend time analyzing it to no end.

Pre-Season, Post Madness
Sunday Oct 11, 2015
Sunday Oct 11, 2015
The 2015-2016 Marquette season is nearly upon us. Marquette Madness was October 9th so we'll talk about that(but neither of us attended, shhh, I won't tell if you don't). We break down what Madness is and what if anything we got from reports about the event. The season is 4 weeks away and the full schedule is out, so knowing what we know about the team (not much) and the opponents Marquette will play (even less) we take an pseudo-educated guess at the results. Spoiler alert: one of us is over-optimistic and the other is just crazy. We then talk expectations, what we are excited for, and what our biggest fear is going into this season. The podcast closes out on the fun that was had with the Marquette football sign Joe took to the opening weekend of College Gameday which set twitter/facebook/social media/interstellar communications ablaze for half a minute. Enjoy the run up to the season, Marquette basketball is almost back in our lives!

Italian Jump to Conclusions Mat
Monday Aug 24, 2015
Monday Aug 24, 2015
The summer is drawing to a close so the podcast is emerging from its summer hibernation. We come out of this slumber to discuss the successful Italian tour that the Marquette basketball team just completed. We spend some time discussing our overdrawn conclusions from the games, especially The Engine (Traci Carter). We do spend a moment on the sensitive subject of Nick Noskowiak but quickly return to the Italy trip. We talk about all the things we saw and eventually transition into a discussion of the upcoming non-conference schedule. Yes, it still bugs us but we do feel a little better after having seen the team play actual basketball. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer and this podcast.
