Tuesday Feb 13, 2024
Tuesday Feb 13, 2024
This is gonna be an intense one. #mubb is back after a brief layoff with a heart pounding win against St John's on National Marquette Day. We talk about the vibes, the crowd, and the game to start off the pod. We then turn to the big week ahead. Marquette is on a 7 game winning streak but face to tough road games this week if they hope to extend it. First is a revenge game against Butler in Hinkle, surely Marquette won't shoot so poorly again? Then there is the top 5 showdown in Hartford against #1 UCONN. What will it take for Marquette to win, how does this game impact the rest of the season, we discuss. Enjoy!

Don't look now but #mubb has won 6 in a row and is starting to get healthy. We talk about the roller coaster that was Villanova and a bit of a laugher in our nations capital against Georgetown. We then look ahead to National Marquette Day and what we think of the rematch against St Johns. We also spend a little bit of time looking ahead and whether the regular season title is out of sight yet or not. And we close with some free advertising for the university and NMD. Enjoy!

Bounce back week for #mubb
Monday Jan 22, 2024
Monday Jan 22, 2024
Phew, that was a real gut check week for #mubb given how things were going the last couple of games. However, the team passed the gut check with a strong win over Villanova on MLK Day and a real roller coaster of a game at MSG against St Johns. We talk about both games, any general trends that we see as a result, and the emergence of Zaide Lowery. We then talk about the week ahead which includes what should be a laugher in Chicago against DePaul (emphasis on should) and a rematch against Seton Hall. As always, enjoy!

We are coming to you live from Phil's murder basement to talk 'ships for #mubb. We review the Creighton game and then pivot to the good stuff, the win over DePaul which results in MU having at least a share of the Big East Conference Title. We then talk the significance of this season and what we think the rest of the season looks like.....we spend very little time analyzing Butler and St John's for the record. It was a fun pod to record so we hope you enjoy!

Since the last pod, Marquette has gone 2-1 in conference play so we review those games (Providence, Seton Hall, and Nova) to see what takeaways we may have. We also talk about the development of Chase Ross and what that means for the team down the conference stretch. We then turn to the week to come which should have the expectation of 2-0 for Marquette. Scrambled Eggs is back and we're catching up on the season
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Monday Jan 18, 2021
We've been away for a bit, so we have some catching up to do. We talk #mubb over the last couple of weeks and how much or little negativity we should fill ourselves with. We also talk about line-ups, what would we change or not change to get more out of the roster. We also talk about who the best overall and offensive options are Marquette going forward. Lastly we talk about the tournament picture and we bring back the super popular bubble talk segment. Note, Joe's end at a bit of an audio glitch at the beginning and again in the last 15 seconds, but other than that it's a typically average episode. Enjoy!

We've got analysis AND data so buckle up
Tuesday Jan 28, 2020
Tuesday Jan 28, 2020
It's been a really weird 72 hours in #mubb and generally for basketball but we got to get into it. We start off with a discussion of Kobe Bryant's passing and its impact on basketball. We then turn to the extremely strange ending to the Butler game and the fact that Wojo had the most head scratching 8 minutes of coaching since....the Providence game. We also discuss the 2nd half performance of Markus Howard after #chairgate. Both of these things lead us to ask: does Wojo panic at the end of games and is Markus "clutch"? This discussion involves real life data, I know crazy. We then turn to the week ahead to forecast MU's chance to get a road Big East victory and the unexpected return of #JustDon'tLoseToDePaul. Enjoy!
